Bad Penny is a short film that tells the story of an encounter between a strange man and two thieves; a story about innocence and violence, wrapped in a layer of humor. On a winter night, just before the holidays, two thugs, burdened by their sentimental problems, meet a tall dark man with a strange attitude. Going for a cheap way of obtaining a few money, that would solve one thug’s problems, they decide to take advantage of that man. Little do they know the man is more than meets the eye. After coming in contact with him, they are amazed to find out that they are dealing with a magician; one that responds to every act of violence with an innocent magic trick that the thieves just don’t seem to understand. Where’s that Christmas spirit?
